“Ndoto Yetu” – Giving Voice to Those Who Act

Project Summary

“Ndoto Yetu” (Our Dream, in Swahili) is an annual charitable project led by Kuanza Initiatives. It aims to offer free communication support to 10 local NGOs or young social entrepreneurs each year, helping them improve their visibility, fundraising efforts, and impact through audiovisual production, digital campaigns, and local advocacy.

Thematic Focus for 2025–2026

Strengthening nature conservation, reducing gender-based violence (GBV), and supporting girls’ education.

Project Objectives
1. Make invisible changemakers visible

Support small local organizations with no marketing budget in amplifying their voice.

2. Promote local community mobilization

foster contributions and engagement from Congolese citizens, especially the emerging middle class.

3. Build communication capacity

Train grantees in social media, storytelling, and impact communication.

4. Create a solidarity network

Connect all beneficiaries into a mutual support ecosystem led by Kuanza Initiatives.

5. Support priority causes

contribute to environmental protection, GBV prevention, and education for girls.

Planned Activities
  • Annual call for applications to select 10 beneficiary projects (Projected from Nov – Dec 2025).
  • Free audiovisual production (1 video + 5 visuals per selected initiative).
  • Digital campaign support (publication plan, hashtags, local ad boost).
  • Group training workshops on impact communication.
  • Mini “Ndoto Yetu” event to showcase beneficiaries to the public and media.
Target Beneficiaries
  • Young social entrepreneurs or local NGOs active in:
    • Nature conservation,
    • Gender-based violence prevention
    • or Girls’ education
  • Based in Eastern DRC (Goma, Bukavu, Beni, Bunia, etc.).
  • With strong social impact but low visibility or limited resources.
Estimated Annual Budget: $4,000 – $6,000 USD
  • Audiovisual production (10 projects): $2,000
